In celebration of Dallas Arts Month, Dallas Arts District is hosting the annual Changing Perspectives Block Party. This FREE family-friendly event will feature the return of the internationally renowned BANDALOOP Vertical Dance Company, celebrating the human spirit, nature, and communities through dance that uses climbing technology to expand and challenge what is possible. They will come to life on the streets of the Dallas Arts District! An innovator of vertical performance, BANDALOOP seamlessly weaves dynamic physicality and intricate choreography to turn the dance floor on its side. Changing Perspectives Block Party will also feature multi award-winning Tejano music artist, Monica Saldivar and Band, vibrant singer songwriter and entertainer Dezi 5 Entertainment, community muralist, Ebony Lewis, and Bruce Wood Dance, among others. Don’t miss this family-friendly event with some of the best artists Dallas has to offer along, gourmet food trucks, a community mural, and more! Dallas Arts District is collaborating with Dallas ISD to bring hundreds of students to a lecture-demonstration by BANDALOOP Vertical Dance Company to Sammons Park in front of the Winspear Opera House and the Brierley Esplanade in front of the Wyly Theatre to discuss the main concepts of STEAM inherent in the process of vertical performances.

BANDALOOP: re-imagining dance, changing perspectives.
BANDALOOP celebrates the human spirit, nature, and communities through dance that uses climbing technology to expand and challenge what is possible. An innovator of vertical performance, BANDALOOP seamlessly weaves dynamic physicality and intricate choreography to turn the dance floor on its side. Founded by Amelia Rudolph and under the artistic direction of Melecio Estrella, the work re-imagines dance, activates public spaces, and inspires wonder and imagination in audiences around the world. BANDALOOP trains dancers and youth at home and on tour, and has performed live for literally millions of people.
BANDALOOP IS FUNDED BY THE CITY OF OAKLAND, THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS AND A DIVERSE SET OF INDIVIDUAL DONORS WHO SUPPORT OUR WORK FROM AROUND THE WORLD. @BANDALOOPING
